The practice in one paragraph

An advisory that sells travel for a living, and has been to the places it sells

The Travelling T is a private travel advisory for adventure and expedition travel: polar voyages, safari and wildlife, rail, small ships, wild coasts, and the places worth staying between them. We travel each route before we sell it, then send clients. We book through Trevello, a member of Virtuoso, so your contracting, commission and amenity systems already know how to handle us. Our clients are active, well-travelled people, most of them over forty, travelling from across Canada and the United States, who want one advisor to arrange the whole trip and stay accountable for it.

What partners can expect from us

Five things we hold ourselves to, on every booking

A rates desk sorts inbound approaches into advisors and creators. We are the first kind. The content we make is a by-product of travelling the routes, never the price of a rate.

01 · Travellers

Qualified, briefed guests

Clients arrive knowing the room, the rhythm of the day and what the property is good at. We send a written note a week before arrival, and again the day before if anything changes.

02 · Reach

A journal and social channels read by planners

Field reports in our journal, a newsletter and our social channels reach people already planning with an advisor. Coverage is earned by staying, and is never bundled into a rate request.

03 · Briefs

Advisor-quality booking notes

Occasions, dietary needs, mobility, pacing and preferences in one clean note, sent once and early, so your team is not piecing a guest together from three emails.

04 · Payment

Prompt, tidy payments

Deposits and balances paid on your schedule through Trevello, the host agency. Commission on your usual terms, reconciled against your statements.

05 · Visits

Interest in inspections and familiarisations

We would rather see a property than read about it. We welcome site inspections and fam trips, and we say plainly when a visit was hosted.

The partners we look for

Places and operators our clients actually ask for

If you run one of these, and your guests would recognise our clients as their own, we would like to hear from you.

How we present partners

Your property, as our clients see it on Stays

Every card on our Stays page says whether it is a place we have stayed or one on our desk shortlist. We use your permitted imagery or our own photographs, we say what the Virtuoso amenities are and what they are not, and we never show a price on a stay. Where we have stayed, the card links to our field note in the journal.

  1. Photograph from our own visit, or your approved image library, captioned with the real place name.
  2. One line on who the property is right for, written by someone who slept there.
  3. Virtuoso amenities as published, marked "on availability" where they are.
  4. A Check dates button that starts a request with us, not a third-party booking engine.

What partners get

Photographs from an actual stay, taken by the advisor who booked it

We photograph every place we stay. Partners can use these images with credit, and the same frames appear on our Stays page and in the journal, captioned with the real place. A few from recent stays:

A separate conversation

Want an independent read on your guest journey or your guiding?

The Quiet Guest is a paid, confidential service, an anonymous stay and a personal letter afterwards. It is kept apart from bookings on purpose, so a rate never buys a report and a report never buys a rate.
